A highway bridge in Toronto was undergoing construction and required concrete scanning for the placement of anchoring supports.

Situation

A construction client in Toronto was looking to place four anchoring supports on the underside of a bridge. In order to avoid damaging the integral structure of the bridge a concrete scan needed to be performed to identify the best location for the anchors.

Solution

Access to the work area required the use of a boom lift, with two technicians working simultaneously, moving along the highway. Our technicians utilized Xradar Enhanced Concrete Scanning in order to accurately map the rebar and provide safe drilling locations for the client. Bar diameters were also determined to allow for the client to calculate and plan the adequate structural bracing as well as to provide construction details of the bridge.
