As part of an accessibility upgrade, Sunway Velocity Mall planned to install a new escalator linking the basement parking to the lower ground floor. The challenge, however, was to carry out the upgrade in a busy, live mall environment without affecting safety or operations.

That’s where Xradar™ enhanced concrete scanning played a crucial role. We scanned the entire slab area, mapping the post-tension cables and critical reinforcements within the structure. This non-destructive process took under an hour, caused no disruption to ongoing mall activity, and gave the client a reliable view of the slab’s hidden elements.

Armed with this data, the client could proceed with the escalator opening safely, ensuring the slab’s integrity while continuing to serve visitors without interruption.
