We have seen a growing number of clients bring scanning to the forefront of their works, whether it’s for coring, cutting, or demolition. The reason is simple: clarity before action saves time, money, and structural integrity.

In recent months alone, we’ve supported multiple projects along with Sonicon Construction where early-stage scanning proved critical. At a retail store expansion, we scanned 4 structural beams using Xradar™ technology before a major floor opening was carried out to install a new staircase for Uniqlo’s expansion. By identifying safe zones for anchoring and coring, the client avoided structural compromise, delays, and costly rework, while meeting a tight overnight work schedule.
The same scanning-first approach was applied at:
- A live water tank in Ampang Jaya verifying the slab integrity and reinforcement before strengthening works began.
- Westside III, where post-tensioned slabs were scanned before wall sawing for a pantry expansion—ensuring no accidental cable strikes.
- Menara TH Selborn, where drainage installation required precision coring in an operational commercial environment. Our scanning confirmed all coring paths were safe before a single tool was deployed.

What unites these projects is a shared principle: Non-destructive structural scanning reduces guesswork and prevents reactive repairs that would otherwise stretch budgets and schedules.
This shift is even more relevant now with Malaysia’s expanded Sales and Services Tax (SST), which from July 2025 will include rectification, refurbishment, and demolition services. The financial margin for error has tightened. Scope creep, rework, or miscoordination now comes with tax implications, making foresight not just a best practice, but a cost-saving necessity.

As construction costs rise and compliance tightens, we’re seeing a maturing market. One that values clear data and non-invasive diagnostics before making irreversible changes. Concrete scanning offers that clarity. It reveals hidden rebar, post-tension cables, voids, and conduits so teams can plan and execute works with confidence.
More than ever, success in construction depends on doing it right the first time. Xradar™ is proud to help clients take that first step with certainty—so every decision that follows is informed, safe, and cost-effective.
